1. 14-Day Refund Guarantee (Map Downloads)

We want you to be completely satisfied with your TomTom map update. If you change your mind or purchased the wrong map, you may request a full refund within 14 days of purchase, provided that:

  • The map download has not been installed or activated on your device.
  • You have not yet downloaded the map file (or if downloaded, you delete it and confirm).
  • The request is made within 14 days from the transaction date.

Once we verify that the map has not been activated, we will process the refund to your original payment method within 5-7 business days. Please note that your bank may take additional time to reflect the refund.

2. Subscriptions (Premium Care, Live Services)

Subscriptions can be canceled at any time through your account dashboard. However, due to the immediate nature of access to live services:

  • Monthly subscriptions: No refunds for partial months. You will continue to have access until the end of the current billing cycle.
  • Annual subscriptions: If you cancel within 14 days of initial purchase and have not used any premium support sessions, you may receive a full refund. After 14 days, refunds are not provided, but you retain access for the remainder of the paid year.
  • Free trials: If you cancel during a free trial, no payment will be charged. Ensure you cancel before the trial ends to avoid being billed.

Important: Live map care sessions are considered "used" once a remote support session is initiated. Refunds for annual subscriptions are prorated only in jurisdictions where required by consumer law.

3. 30-Day Map Guarantee (Free Upgrade)

If you purchase a map update and TomTom releases a newer version of that same regional map within 30 days of your purchase, we will provide the upgraded map at no additional cost. This applies to one-time map purchases only (not subscriptions).

To claim your free upgrade, contact our support team with your order number and proof of purchase. We will verify the release date and provide instructions to download the latest map.

4. How to Request a Refund

To request a refund, please follow these steps:

  1. Log in to your account on our website.
  2. Go to Order History and locate the purchase.
  3. Click "Request Refund" and complete the short form (reason for refund).
  4. Alternatively, email refunds@tomtom.center with your order number and reason.
  5. Our team will respond within 24-48 hours with instructions or confirmation.

For map activation issues, you can also request assistance via live chat β€” we may be able to resolve the problem without a refund.

5. Exceptions & Non-Refundable Items

The following are generally non-refundable:

  • Map downloads that have been activated or installed on a device (the license is consumed).
  • Used premium support sessions (live map care, priority phone support).
  • Gift cards or promotional credits.
  • Purchases made more than 14 days ago (unless required by local law).
  • Physical items (if we ever ship hardware) must be returned unopened; return shipping is at your expense.

6. Chargebacks & Fraud Prevention

We take fraud seriously. If you dispute a charge via your bank (chargeback) without first contacting us, we may suspend your account and associated map licenses. Please always reach out to our support team first β€” we're here to help and can often resolve issues immediately.

7. European Union Consumers

If you are a consumer in the European Union, you have the right to withdraw from your purchase within 14 days without giving any reason, in accordance with the EU Consumer Rights Directive. However, this right expires once you begin downloading or activating digital content (map). By proceeding with the download, you acknowledge that you lose your right of withdrawal. We therefore recommend that you ensure compatibility and confirm your choice before downloading.
